British farmers and the public are watching in absolute horror at the war in Ukraine and what is happening in the country and to its people. As an organisation the NFU is supporting the Disasters Emergency Committee’s humanitarian appeal and has donated £25,000.

Ukrainian farmers are important suppliers of agricultural commodities to the global market. British farmers are standing in solidarity with the food producers of Ukraine and are committed to help them in any way possible. NFU President Minette Batters has talked to Mariia Didukh, Director of the Ukrainian National Agrarian Forum (UNAF), to understand first-hand the situation on the ground.

The UK farming unions of the NFU, NFU Scotland, Ulster Farmers' Union and NFU Cymru have written a letter of support, standing with everyone in Ukraine, including Ukrainian farming families, following the invasion of their country by Russia.
