Win a washable Hug Rug doormat

A Hug Rug doormat with a Highland Cow design

Balancing flare and practicality, and crafted in a family-run Yorkshire mill.

Designed to add style and luxurious softness to every home, the washable doormats from Hug Rug, the pioneering inventors of the washable rug, balance flare with practicality that’s perfect for everyday comfort.
Designed for every home, Hug Rug’s collections span environmentally-conscious doormats, runners, rugs, bath mats and more – all designed to help reduce plastic waste.

Hug Rug epitomises true British craftsmanship, as it continues to craft all of its products in the UK at its family-run mill in Yorkshire, which has been in operation since 1954. West Yorkshire has always been at the heart of the UK’s textile industry and that heritage is infused throughout the Hug Rug brand. Hug Rug proudly remains one of the last mills still producing in Yorkshire, and the last company in this sector to still be creating rugs in Britain. Its products are expertly crafted by a 180-strong workforce coming from generations of local textile workers. Their craftspeople’s knowledge, experience and skills are those passed down from father and mother to son and daughter.

Hug Rug’s range of washable doormats features designs inspired by nature, the countryside, animals, everyday and contemporary living. Featuring a hand-drawn Highland cow, the Heritage Highland Cow doormat is one of Hug Rug’s most in-demand styles, bringing the charm of the great British countryside into any home. Each doormat is machine washable, made in the UK, with pile crafted from 100% recycled cotton. Its super-soft fibres also trap up to 95% of dirt, mud and moisture.

Hug Rug is proud to be a zero-waste-to-landfill business. In an ongoing effort to reduce usage of virgin materials, Hug Rug’s Eco-Washable rugs, runners and doormats are crafted from 100% recycled materials, including plastic bottles and recycled cotton. Every year, Hug Rug recycles 4.8 million cotton t-shirts for yarn in its tufted rugs, 11.4 million plastic bottles into soft yet durable fibre, and 147 tonnes of plastic waste is reused for its rubber mat backings.
