‘It’s the most wonderful time of the year,’ sang Andy Williams in 1963, and that’s certainly true of the Hay Festival Winter Weekend in November.

The main Hay Festival in May is world-renowned, but the Winter Weekend, which runs from 26-29 November, is a more intimate, community affair that fewer people know about, and it’s hard to believe this is its 27th year.

It signals the start of Christmas in the book town of Hay-on-Wye, and over four days there are 70 author events, workshops, comedy and music, guaranteed to be stimulating, inspiring and entertaining.
