The prize draw is open to all British citizens, including NFU members and excluding NFU employees, their families, agents, or anyone else professionally connected with this promotion.
Entry to this prize draw is free.
Participants must be 18 years or over.
Only one entry per person is permitted. All entries are verified, and duplicate entries will be removed.
In order to enter participants must post a photo to either the NFU’s Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn page (under any of the competition posts) or to the entrants own Twitter or Instagram account (using the hashtag #BestOfBritishFarming). Alternatively, you can email YmFja2JyaXRpc2hmYXJtaW5nQG5mdS5vcmcudWs= with the subject “Best of British Photo Competition”. The photo should be of a British rural landscape, taken by the entrant, of your favourite British food, or or something else close to your heart that showcases the Best of British farming, with a caption of no more than 30 words explaining what the photo is and why it is special to them if it is a photo of a landscape, or why they love it if it is of food.
The Start date of the competition is: 3pm Friday 6 May July 2022
The Closing date of the competition is: Friday 10 June 2022 at 11.59pm
The NFU accepts no responsibility for incorrectly completed, lost or delayed entries. By entering, all entrants will be deemed to accept these terms and conditions.
The prize is:
- £1000 voucher towards a farm stay when booked through the website www.cottages.com. The cottages.com offer is valid for 12 months from Friday 17 June 2022. Minimum spend of £1000. Relevant terms and conditions for cottages.com apply.
- A hamper of British food, up to the value of £100. Products selected from www.britishfinefoods.com in consultation with the winner. The NFU cannot guarantee winner will get all their choices.
The winner will be chosen by a panel of 3 NFU communications staff whose decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into regarding the selection of the winners.
The prize is non-transferable and there is no cash alternative.
The winner will be notified via the social media channel on which they submitted their competition entry channel in the first instance by 17 June 2022.
Please note, we are required to make the name and county of residence of the winner available publicly. We may also ask you to take part in additional publicity connected with this prize draw.
The winners name and county will be available on request by writing to NFU Communications Team, Agriculture House, Stoneleigh Park, Kenilworth, CV8 2TZ and may also be published online and on social media.
The competition must be entered in each entrant’s own name. You cannot enter the competition on behalf of anyone else.
We cannot accept photos that have previously been published, including in other photography competitions.
The NFU reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions or to cancel, withdraw or amend the promotion at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion, or if circumstances arise outside its control.
Entrants’ personal data will be collected, held and processed by the NFU (as data controller) for the purpose of administering this prize draw. Please note, your name and country of residence may be disclosed if you win this prize draw. If any provision of these terms and conditions is held invalid by any law, rule, order or determination of any court of a competent jurisdiction, such invalidity shall not affect the enforceability of any other provision not held to be invalid.

1.1.3. In the press for the purposes of publicising this photography competition and the promotion of the National Farmers’ Union
1.1.4. In conjunction with the main sponsors to further promote this photography competition.
The organisers will make every reasonable effort to ensure that name credits are given to any photograph published in any medium.
1.2. You confirm that your entry:
1.2.1. is your own original work and does not breach any third party’s intellectual property rights (for example, by including a company’s trade mark without permission);
1.2.2. is not defamatory, offensive, threatening, discriminatory, distasteful, pornographic or illegal;
1.2.3. is not licensed, or you have not disposed of any rights in the image, that would conflict with uses to be made by the National Farmers’ Union;
1.2.3. can be submitted to us and used without breaching any contractual obligation to any person; and
1.2.4. does not contain anything which may be confidential or commercially sensitive.
1.3. If your entry contains photographs or video images of people, you must ensure that you inform them that you intend to use the material for the purposes of this promotion and obtain their consent.
1.4. We may ask you for evidence of any such consent and reserve the right to disqualify your entry if you are unable to provide it or if we have doubts about its adequacy.
