Wildlife filmmaker Simon King is among special guests attending the Festival of Birds at the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust’s Slimbridge reserve on 4 and 5 February.
He will open the newly-renovated Zeiss Hide and a new otter holt on 4 February and then participate in a question and answer session in the Gloucestershire reserve’s cinema.
The Urban Birder, David Lindo, will be giving a talk about a particular interest of his, birdwatching in cities, and then have a Q&A session with the audience.
“We are delighted that Simon King and David Lindo are supporting our festival of birds,” said Veronica Crisp, WWT Slimbridge’s general manager.
“Both days of the Festival are packed with great events and activities that will suit a range of ages.”
Attractions include conservation talks by WWT experts, bird catching and ringing demonstrations, swan sketching, wild bird feeds, birdwatching challenges for nature fans, and variety of stands.
Activities for young nature enthusiasts will include an interactive game exploring migration.
Admission to the WWT Slimbridge centre is free for members, with normal entry charges for non-members.
