Artist goes recycling for new exhibition of dog sculptures

14 Jun 2010
Dog sculptures made from reclaimed objects including old school climbing ropes are part of a special art exhibition at the Stockbridge Gallery in Hampshire until July 16, 2010.

The gallery, located at The Old Post Office in Stockbridge, specialises in dogs in art and has commissioned the sculptures from Dominic Gubb. He is an award-winning artist involved in the art of ‘upcyling’ – using discarded items to create sculptures.

Stockbridge Gallery’s curator Victoria Armstrong saw some of Dominic’s work and asked him to create a thought-provoking exhibition of sculptures of ‘upcycled’ dogs. These are now on display at the gallery’s Money for Old Rope exhibition, which runs until July 16.

A selection of dog paintings by other artists will also be on display.

Full details are available from the Stockbridge Gallery’s website.
