Breakfast 'skippers' were the target of a campaign backed by the NFU which aimed to ensure everyone starts the day with a healthy balanced breakfast.
‘Shake up your wake up’ was the theme for Farmhouse Breakfast Week 2011 which took place from 23 to 29 January. The campaigns objective was to encourage people to rethink their attitude to the most important meal of the day. Alarmingly as many as one in six adults never eat breakfast and more consumers are missing breakfast today than they were six years ago.
The annual campaign was organised by HGCA and supported by the NFU who hosted regional events up and down the country. This year a new website was also launched which is packed full of quick and easy breakfast ideas such as cinnamon bagels with fruit and oat compote and cranberry spiced porridge.
